A CONVICTED pervert who asked a 14-year-old girl for sex outside her school has been jailed for 19 months.
Abdul Rubel had downed a litre of “pink wine” in five minutes before propositioning the child and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
Rubel, 28, of Allerton Road, Bradford, served an 18 week jail sentence only months before for trying to grab a woman at a bus stop and sexually assaulting another complainant by touching her breasts.
Bradford Crown Court heard that he struck twice on the morning of September 6.
He pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault.
Prosecutor Rebecca Young said the first girl was on her way to a doctor’s appointment at 10am when Rubel approached, clutching a bottle of alcohol, and stood very close to her.
When he asked if she wanted to have sex, she fled in terror.
The girl’s father, who witnessed the incident, alerted the police.
His daughter was too traumatised to return to school that day, the court was told. “She was extremely frightened, shocked and incredibly upset,” Miss Young said.
Fifteen minutes later, the drunken Rubel thrust his hips at a woman waiting at a bus stop with her daughter.
He was stumbling around, telling the mother she knew what she liked, the court heard.
While the woman was flagging down a taxi to get away from Rubel, he seized her 16-year-old daughter from behind, Miss Young said.
Both women were left “frightened and disgusted.”
The police were speaking to Rubel in the street, after a shopkeeper raised the alarm, when the father of the 14-year-old girl spotted him and recognised him.
Rubel told the police he approached the younger girl “for a laugh because he was boozed-up.”
He had downed a litre of “some pink wine” in five minutes that morning and remembered nothing about the second offence.
Rubel was given a suspended sentence in June last year for sexually assaulting a woman at a bus stop in Bradford. He thrust himself at her and made a grab for her breasts, the court heard.
Five months later, he was back in court for touching a woman’s breast and asking if she wanted to have sex with him.
Rubel was jailed for 18 weeks for breaching the suspended sentence.
His barrister, Geraldine Kelly, said he suffered from schizophrenia and had mixed his medication with alcohol.
Miss Kelly said Rubel had never had a relationship of any length with a woman or managed to keep a job.
“There is about him a clumsiness, an ill-judged attempt to make relationships with women who are not interested,” Miss Kelly said.
“He is a serious nuisance rather than a public danger.”
Judge Robert Bartfield labelled Rubel “a sex pest.”
“Fourteen-year-old girls going to school must be allowed to do so without worrying about people like you,” he said.
“This is now your third and fourth time of doing something like this.”
Rubel must sign on the sex offender register for ten years.
