BRADFORD Cathedral rang out with festive cheer during it’s annual Lord Mayor’s Carol Concert.
The event, held on Monday evening, was attended by Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Zafar Ali, Bishop of Leeds Toby Howarth and numerous civic dignitaries and Councillors.
There were readings by Council Leader Susan Hinchcliffe, and chief executive Kersten England.
A collection was held to cover the cost of the service, with extra money being donated to the Lord Mayor’s Charity, which this year is raising money for Bradford Nightstop and Manorlands Hospice.
Classic carols such as O Little Town of Bethlehem and O Come All Ye Faithful were belted out by those in attendance, while other carols were sung by the Bradford Cathedral Choir. The City of Bradford Brass Band played a medley of music from animated film The Polar Express, and Andy Jolley, Archdeacon of Bradford even managed to relate the story of the Nativity to classic action film Die Hard during his address.
