A spectacular car fire which broken out on the M62 motorway, closing two lanes during rush hour, has been cleared
The blaze, on the westbound carriageway between junction 24 at Ainley Top near Huddersfield and 25 for Brighouse, caused delays this morning for commuters.
A passer-by said: “The blazing car was on the hard shoulder. It’s an absolute inferno.
"You could see the flames shooting into the sky from quite a distance away. There won't be anything left of the car."
The blaze broke out at about 8.40am and the incident was cleared by around 10am.
The fire service and police had been spotted en-route to the incident from the Brighouse direction.
