WEST Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service has released horrifying footage of fireworks being launched at a fire engine in Bradford earlier this week.
The video, taken on Monday, shows a group of cowardly yobs launching fireworks at the firefighters in their fire engine, and a fire which has been lit in a field in the background.
The fire service said: "Luckily, the crew were unharmed but the fireworks did damage the lockers on the engine.
"Our firefighters have enough danger to deal with without being attacked at work."
Attacks on firefighters in Bradford have spiked in recent weeks, in the lead up to Bonfire Night, which firefighters have labelled 'silly season'.
Ahead of November 5, the fire service has re-released its More Than a Uniform campaign, urging the groups of youths who attack fire crews by throwing rocks, fireworks and other missiles at crews while they work to think about the people behind the uniform and their families.
Attacks slow response times and put people who are in real emergencies at risk.
