A DERELICT former special school plagued by vandalism has been set alight once again.
Firefighters were called to the old Heaton Royds Special School, in Redburn Drive, Shipley, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire, which is being treated as deliberate, began in the building and spread to the roof. He said around 30 per cent of the building was alight.
Fire crews from Shipley, Bradford and Fairweather Green attended and stayed at the scene until around 10pm.
Jets and an aerial appliance were used to bring the fire under control.
It marks yet another fire at the school, which closed its doors back in 2010.
