A PLAY focussing on the centenary of the Bradford Women's Humanity League of 1916-18 will be performed on Friday.

Called Protestors for Peace, it is a duologue between two of the leading lights of the Bradford Women's Humanity League, Esther Sandiforth and Fanny Muir, and takes the opportunity of the WWI centenary year to remember those women of Bradford.

It will be performed at 6pm at the Delius Centre for the Arts/the German Church, 29 Great Horton Road.

Organised independently by Irene Lofthouse and Peter Nias, it features actors Jen Banks and Irene Lofthouse as the two women. Set in 1922, following the unveiling of the Bradford Cenotaph on July 1, they reflect both on that day and more especially on the Bradford Women's Humanity League of 1916-18, as well as events in other post-war years. They make particularly astute observations on those times, and then look towards their own futures.

The hour-long play is on for one evening only. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and make comments afterwards. Free entrance with donations requested towards costs.
