The 'People's Powerhouse Convention' will be held in Bradford next month.

The movement, founded last year, aims to widen decision-making across the North to include a more diverse range of people and experiences.

The event will see the launch of the People’s Powerhouse charter, which will set out its vision to transform the fortunes of the North and its people. It will also look to help address challenges currently faced by the North, including a low wage economy, mental health and skills gaps.

Policy makers, young people MPs, community groups, charities and others will be in attendance.

Workshops on the day will look at different issues affecting communities. The Community Transport Association and Transport for the North will be involved in a session looking at how transport can be improved, while other sessions will look at the role art can play in shaping policy, the future world of work and how people can be 'in the lead' when it comes to funding priorities in the North. The event will take place on November 20 from 10am to 4.30pm at Valley Parade. For more information and to register visit www.peoplespowerhouse.org.uk
