A NEW, fully-equipped 'Changing Places' toilet is now in place at the Bradford Royal Infirmary in response to a national campaign.
The new facility is on Level 1, close to the hospital's main entrance.
Shane Embleton, Head of Capital Projects and Development, said: “Many disabled people are unable to use standard accessible toilets as they need more space for mobility and assistance.
These needs are met by ‘Changing Places’ toilets, which are larger than standard accessible toilets and designed for dependent use, for example with a carer."
They have more space and specialised equipment.
The ‘Changing Places’ Consortium was established in 2005, working to support the rights of people with disabilities.
