A FUNERAL directors based in Greengates has been named the best medium-sized funeral planner in Yorkshire and East Lancashire.

Edwin Pounds & Sons picked up the prize at the Funeral Planner of the Year Awards, run by funeral plan provider Golden Charter.

Radio legend Ken Bruce hosted the awards, held at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

In recognition of its victory, the Woodland Trust has dedicated trees on behalf of Edwin Pounds & Sons, which will be planted in Lincolnshire.
