OUTDOOR clothing company Trespass is the latest name to be announced for the Broadway Shopping Centre.

The news was revealed during a presentation to Bradford Councillors about efforts to regenerate the city, where city centre bosses said the company would be joining burger chain Frankies as new additions to Bradford.

The nearest Trespass stores are in Keighley and Kirkstall.

Although an opening date has not been announced, members of the Regeneration and Environment Scrutiny Committee were told the store was likely to be opening in the former Disney Store pop-up unit.

City centre manager Jonny Noble was speaking about the recent names signing up to Broadway, which will celebrate its third anniversary next month, and the neighbouring Light cinema complex.

Specsavers is preparing to open a new store on Broadway, re-locating from a smaller unit on Darley Street, this weekend.

Frankies is due to open in the former Veri Peri restaurant unit on Hall Ings, and Pizza Express has submitted signage plans for another unit on Broadway, next to the entrance to The Light.

It was also recently announced that Superdrug would be opening a "concept" store in the unit next to Debenhams, one of the largest in the shopping centre. Similar Superdrug stores have offered health and beauty services, including Botox injections.

Mr Noble told members of the committee that, for at least the short term, Superdrug would be likely to be keeping its Bank Street unit open.
