POLICE have launched an arson investigation after a speed camera in Bradford was torched recently.

Footage emerged on the Mobile Speed Camera Awareness (West Yorkshire) Facebook page of the speed camera, in Thornton Road, showing the camera on fire.

The footage appears to have been taken at around 5am on Monday, October 22, but police said the incident could have happened between October 21 and 23.

Today, the burnt-out shell of the speed camera stands in Thornton Road, at the junction with Hoyle Ing Road and Churchill Road, in Thornton.

The insides of the camera has been destroyed, and all of the paint has been scorched from the camera, leaving the bare metal on show, which appears to have bent out of shape under the heat of the flames.
