Images have emerged of police trying to round up cows that had escaped their field and wandered onto a motorway near Bradford.

The incident, on the M606 motorway, was captured on a police patrol vehicle’s in-car camera.

PC Martin Willis, known to his Twitter followers as Motorway Martin, said: “Some curious visitors to the #M606 motorway a few weeks ago. You just never know what a shift is going to be like when you book on duty! Luckily it wasn't rush hour!”
