AN EVENING of words and music celebrating the Brontes’ work is being staged next month.
The event, focusing on the legendary literary sisters from Haworth, takes place as part of the national Family Learning Festival.
The evening, at Skipton Library on October 12, starts at 7pm. It is one of a series of events being held at libraries across North Yorkshire throughout the month.
The packed programme includes coding sessions, performances and visits by authors and poets.
County Councillor Greg White, executive member for libraries, said: “As always, our libraries are putting on a wide range of activities to celebrate the festival. There is bound to be something to inspire people of all ages and interests.
“The festival is the biggest annual celebration of family learning in the UK, aiming to bring families together for learning that is fun, informal and inspiring.”
The venture, co-ordinated by the charity Campaign for Learning, takes place every October.
It is celebrated by a range of organisations, from schools and children’s centres to libraries and museums.
