FRIENDS of a mother-of-two who died in a car crash have spoken of their "heartbreak".
Zoe Sarjeant, 27, from the Poplars Farm area of Bradford, just off Kings Road, has been named locally as the victim of a crash which happened at around 6:10am on Saturday in Swain House Road.
A police spokesperson said a silver Audi A4 collided with the kerb and subsequently struck a tree.
Ms Sarjeant was fatally injured. and police believe she was the only person in the vehicle.
Pictures show significant damage to the middle and rear of the car on its right-hand side, with one image showing the vehicle bent round the tree at a right-angle.
Other footage shows the Audi being hoisted onto a recovery vehicle.
Many have paid tribute on social media, as well as placing flowers and notes at the scene. Some even etched messages into the tree itself.
The notes included messages from both of Ms Sarjeant’s children.
A message from “your little princess Leah” said: “To mummy, I love you so so much. I wish you will come back. Please come back.”
The other said: “I love you big much mummy, love Jaden and Leah.”
Cherelle Hands said her and Ms Sarjeant were as close as sisters and that Ms Sarjeant would refer to her as her “sister-in-law”.
Ms Hands said she had been with her friend throughout Friday, the day before the crash.
She said: “We took the children on a day out to Ilkley, she was so happy. When my brother told me she had an accident I just thought she was hurt.
“When I got to the crash I asked a police officer if I could see her, he explained she had passed. I’ve never felt such pain in my life, I was shocked, shaking with fear for the hurt of the children left without a mother.”
She added: “I’m still in shock now as we were so close. We were together every day and if we weren’t we were always on the phone. I’m heartbroken, so is all the family and the children as she was so good with the kids. I don’t think we will ever get over this.”
One friend posted an emotional tribute on Facebook.
She said: “It just hasn’t sunk in yet from finding out yesterday that one of my closest friends had passed away.
“Zoe you had everything ahead of you you didn’t deserve any of this at all. Just showed you need to live your life to the max. It’s left both of your babies without their mum, who was an amazing role model and did everything she possibly could to give them a happy life.”
The friend said she felt as if part of her had gone and that she’d treasure the gifts Ms Sarjeant had given her over the years.
She added: “You didn’t deserve any of this at all. Your babies will be well looked after and won’t miss out on anything. Fly high beautiful. We will meet again one day I promise. RIP pretty lady.”
Andrea Bennett, who was friends with Ms Sarjeant at school, said: “She was a great loving young lady with her whole life ahead of her. It’s such a shame what has happened and we are all in shock and still can’t believe she has gone.
“It’s just shocking that this has happened. Her poor poor children have to grow up knowing their mummy isn’t coming back.”
She added: “She was a lovely, loving mother and a loving person all around - ask anybody, they won’t say a bad word about her. It’s just awful it’s happened to her.”
Police in Bradford are appealing for witnesses to the incident itself or the lead up to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on the 101 non-emergency number.
