A BINGLEY church is celebrating its 500th anniversary this year with a visit by the Lord Mayor, and two new banners.
The All Saint’s Church held a Civic Service which was also attended by MP Philip Davies.
The ornate banners were produced by previous churchwarden Anne Elsworth.
One represents Bingley and its people through the years from 1518 to the present day and the other shows landmarks in the town.
Local resident Enid Bennett said: “It is worth a visit to the church on Old Main Street to see the intricate work on the banners and read about the history of this wonderful building.”
The banners were dedicated by the Reverend Martyn Weaver.
The church will also host a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert which will take place on Saturday, October 6.
