The Telegraph & Argus celebrates it 150th anniversary this year and in honour of the occasion we are printing a story from our archives every day for 150 days.
Today we look at the Bradford Telegraph And Argus Friday, 27 April 1928: Royal weather and enthusiastic crowds greeted the Duke of York and the smiling Duchess on their visit to Bradford to open King’s Road and lay foundation stones for the new Infirmary. Evidently delighted with the warm-hearted Yorkshire welcome the Duchess, wore a biscuit-coloured costume and repeatedly waved to the dense crowds, leaving a happy impression upon the people of Bradford. Earlier in the day the Duke and Duchess had also paid a visit to a G. Garnett and Sons, Valley Mills, Greengates, where by 10am crowds had already gathered to secure a good position to see the little Duchess and her husband.
