Halifax Town 0, Histon 0
Halifax boss Chris Wilder has called on two former Bradford City directors to quickly complete their protracted takeover of the stricken Blue Square Premier outfit.
Former City promotion winner Wilder wants David Bosomworth and Bobby Ham, who was also a Bantams player, to end eight months of uncertainty by finalising their buy-out at The Shay.
The stalled negotiations prompted former Halifax chairman Geoff Ralf to resign last season and the club have limped along since then with no board and only a general manager in command.
Frustrated Wilder, who considered quitting over the issue during the summer, spoke out after home fans booed Town's players at the end of yesterday's 0-0 draw with Histon.
"I can understand the fans' reaction because there is no chairman or board for them to have a go at," Wilder said. "But what they do have is a ready-made scapegoat in the players.
"There are 23 other clubs in this league. They can all plan ahead because they have a chairman and some leadership at the top. We do not have anything like that.
"It has been a frustrating time for everybody. Something has got to happen soon as we cannot carry on drifting like this. It has been eight months now and I just want it over."
Andy Campbell went closest for Halifax early on with a goal-bound shot tipped round the post by Histon keeper Mark Osbourn in a dour uneventful match overshadowed by events off the field.
