Telegraph & Argus Saturday 6 May 1950:
It was farewell to Bradford’s last tram as it made its final journey through Odsal to the Bankfoot depot. Members of Bradford City Council and officials of the Transport Department had enjoyed one last run in a specially illuminated tram, before the redundant tramcars were sold for scrap. After 50 years of service in Bradford the old trams would be replaced by buses. Thankfully all tram drivers and conductors had been found jobs with the bus services, and for those who were considered too old to make the change, alternative work had been found in various other departments.
