Telegraph & Argus Thursday November 30, 1967:
The bearded, nine-foot-tall statue of the grand old W. E. Forster had been triumphantly returned to the place where he was first erected in 1890, following the redevelopment of Forster Square. The redevelopment scheme which was considered as the start of Bradford re-shaping itself for the 20th century had come at a time of uncertainty. The pointed finger of his outstretched arm was supposed to be an indication of the way ahead. However, Willian Edward Forster a Bradford MP for 25 years, had once again been placed in storage for another 11 years, during the redevelopment of the Broadway area. The well-travelled statue now resides outside the new Broadway Shopping Centre.
