AN EVENT will be held in City Park on Saturday to mark Polish Heritage Day.
Through the day there will be traditional dances, Polish food and stalls where people can learn about the history and culture of Poland.
The event, which runs from 10am to 1pm, is being organised by the committee of the city’s Polish Supplementary school, which has been active in Bradford for 70 years.
They were encouraged to organise the event by the Polish Consulate.
It is hoped the event will introduce Polish culture to the general public and to improve multi - cultural understanding in Bradford, which has had a large Polish population for decades.
Stalls set up will include one looking at Poland’s geography, One looking at traditions surrounding festivals such as Easter and Christmas. Restaurant Kuchnia Agi will be handing out free samples of some Polish food, and 4Food will provide samples of Polish breads and cakes. And a dance troupe from the school will be taking part in dances through the day.
The day will be sponsored by the Polish Consulate and the Department of Diversity, Cohesion and Children`s Services in Bradford.
