BARRING one or two technical hiccups with the audio equipment, Bradford's inaugural curry awards was a resounding success.
Organised by businesswoman Fatima Patel, the presentation was held at Cedar Court Hotel, in Rooley Lane, yesterday evening.
Three hundred guests attended the ceremony to see who the judges and public had voted to be Bradford's best curry house.
Judges visited the restaurants as mystery diners and awarded points for each of the categories which were added up to decide the eventual winners.
The people's choice category for best restaurant was decided by public vote with more than 6,500 people voting.
Two main businesses virtually swept the board in the eight categories.
The winners were: Best Customer Service - Prashad.
Best Takeaway - joint winners Sultan and My Lahore.
Best Outdoor Caterer - My Lahore.
Best Vegetarian Offer - Prashad.
Best manager - My Lahore.
Best Chef - joint winner Prashad and My Lahore.
Best Restaurant (People's Choice) - Akbar's.
Best Restaurant (Judges' Choice) - Prashad.
My Lahore was also awarded a special recognition for innovation award.
More reaction to the event and photographs will be in Thursday's Telegraph & Argus.
