The family of a Bradford GP who died of cancer have organised a seaside trip for patients in her memory.

Urmila Gupta, who died of lung cancer, aged 71, used to organise and pay for seaside excursions for hundreds of her elderly patients.

Her brother Jitendra Gupta is now continuing her legacy and on Saturday he organised a trip to Blackpool.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Robin Owens, was among the people who saw the group off.

Mr Gupta said: "It was a wonderful day and I am already looking forward to organising more events in future."

Mr Gupta said he wanted to thank Mumtaz and Morrisons for providing food and Bradford and Airedale Primary Care Trust and Dr Peter Dixon for helping to organise the event.
