A father-of-two charged with attempting to kidnap two young women in Shipley has appeared before a judge at Bradford Crown Court via a video link with Armley Prison in Leeds.

David Thomas was charged last month after alleged incidents at Shipley railway station and nearby Valley Road.

In addition to the attempted kidnap matters Thomas, whose address cannot be revealed for legal reasons, has also been charged with carrying an offensive weapon, namely a kitchen knife.

The married 39-year-old, who works in Bingley, was further remanded in custody by Judge Roger Scott at the end of his brief preliminary hearing.

Thomas is expected to attend at the crown court on October 15 for his next hearing.
