Suspected cocaine and cannabis were seized by police in another raid in the Ilkley area at the weekend.

The raid was the third in the area in less than six months, and was carried out by police at around 8am on Saturday. Officers from Bradford District Drugs Team recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis bush.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man from an address in Ilkley on suspicion of drugs offences. The man was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Mark Long of Bradford District Drugs Team said: "This is an example of work the team is doing every day to remove drugs from the streets of the Bradford District. The team and the Dob In A Dealer campaign have recently celebrated their fifth year and both are going from strength to strength. People do not have to live with the crime and anti-social behaviour associated with drug dealing, and we are grateful for their continued support."

Police recently credited members of the public for information leading to the arrest and caution of an Addingham man, and seizure of a number of cannabis plants.

Earlier this year, Bradford District Drugs Team raided a house in Ilkley and seized more than 100 cannabis plants. A 37-year-old man was given a suspended six-month prison sentence and ordered to do community work after admitting producing a controlled drug.

Police urged anyone with information about suspected drug dealing activity to support their Dob In A Dealer campaign by calling Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
