Two men will be sentenced next month after they admitted involvement in a cannabis-growing operation.

Michael Moran, 53, of Bracken Bank Avenue, Keighley, and 47-year-old Gordon Fraser, from St Margaret's Avenue, Holme Wood, Bradford, were both charged following a raid on a house in November, 2005.

The pair pleaded guilty today at Bradford Crown Court to a charge of producing cannabis. Moran, who failed to appear for his trial in January, was sentenced to 56 days in custody after he admitted failing to answer his bail.

Fraser also failed to attend the trial and he has already served a 56-day sentence for that.

Judge Peter Benson adjourned sentence on the pair until September 21 and Fraser was granted conditional bail in the meantime.

The judge said he was adjourning the case for pre-sentence reports, but he warned the two men: "You both must understand that, however limited your role, the production of cannabis on a substantial scale is a serious matter and the court will be considering custody."
