A gardener who worked in parks in the area has been awarded £4,500 compensation pay because he suffered noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus.
Karl Grimshaw, 39, worked as a gardener in Pudsey park for Leeds City Council.
As a result of being exposed to noise from industrial, petrol-driven mowers, strimmers, shredders, hedge cutters and ride-on mowers and tractors, Mr Grimshaw developed hearing loss and tinnitus which is irreversible.
Mr Grimshaw made the claim through the Industrial Disease Team at Irwin Mitchell in Sheffield.
