Thieves have stolen 50 kilogrammes of lead from farm buildings on the outskirts of Grassington.
The offenders struck at 12.40pm on Wednesday and fled with a number of 12-inch strips of lead, which could have the name "Fozzy" scratched on.
Police believe the thieves were two people in a white Corsa van, which was seen near the scene.
"The van would have gone through Grassington and we would like to hear from anyone who saw it," said a police spokesman.
