Stanningley fire crews attended a house fire yesterday at 6pm.
The fire, which was in Tennyson Street, Yeadon, was under control in about 15 minutes.
Fire crews used a positive ventilation to clear the smoke.
A spokesman from West Yorkshire fire said it had been started by some over heated pans catching alight in the oven.
No one was injured.
