Police have renewed an appeal for information on a carjacker after new material came to light.
A blue and white Iveco van, stolen in Hastings Avenue, off Manchester Road, Marshfields, Bradford, before being used to carjack a dark purple Citroen C4 VTR Plus, in Mixenden, Halifax, was recovered on the evening of Thursday, July 26.
Detective Constable Andy Lister, of Calder Valley CID, said they now know the van, which was stolen at 12.30pm on Thursday, was involved in a collision with a red Ford Mondeo in the car park of Pinewood, at Scar Top, Stanbury, Haworth at 2pm.
He said: "We are looking for witnesses to that collision with a view to identifying the driver.
"The owner of the Ford came out of Pinewood to find his car had been involved in the collision. When we found the van it had a hubcap missing which was found at the scene of the collision.
"We are also asking for people to be vigilant to this Citroen C4 which is a distinctive and rare car - registration K600 MLG.
"Forensic inquiries with the van are ongoing at the moment to identify him and we are obviously keen to trace him."
The man has been described as white, 5ft 10ins, pale, slim, with dark short hair, in his early 20s and with very small eyes.
