A PROMINENT city centre building has sold at auction for £14,000 over its guide price.
Bradford Council owned 111 - 117 Sunbridge Road was recently occupied by The Bed Shop, but last month the company relocated to Keighley Retail Park.
The three storey property, which dates back to 1901, went under the hammer at a Pugh property auction last week, with a £200,000 guide price.
The 8,434 square foot building eventually sold for £214,000.
No details of the building’s buyer have been revealed.
When announcing its move, Bed Shop manager Stuart Butterfield blamed a 50 per cent downturn in footfall in that area of the city over the past five years.
