LABOUR Party deputy leader Tom Watson visited the home of the Bradford Bulls on the campaign trail.
Mr Watson, who is also the party’s culture, media and sport spokesman, met with chairman Jaz Athwal and co-owner Andrew Chalmers ahead of the game against London Broncos yesterday. He was joined by candidate Judith Cummins, seeking re-election in Bradford South.
The club was resurrected by a new team earlier this year, after being placed into liquidation.
Mr Watson said: “Judith worked very hard to make sure the Bulls survived. As well as raising the club’s plight in Parliament a number of times she also lobbied behind the scenes with the RFL and others. She is determined to see this work through and make sure sports clubs are better run in future.”
