WE THOUGHT holding a competition with a title as open as #colour would be a challenge to the club members.
Interpreting a single word and then capturing it in photography should be a challenge, but I’m very pleased to say that so far the standard has been excellent.
Bright colour in photography is so universal these days that the unusual images tend to be the black and white ones.
The results from the half way point have been as diverse as the region and as varied as the weather.
Some of the images have had bright vivid treatment of the subject with the yellows jumping off the images of sunset’s flowers and moorlands.
Then to complement this there have been entries of subtle hues, describing a rich pallet of greens, greys and earthy tones.
From a photographer’s point of view the technical competency to capture the variety of nature in all the varied tones has been superb.
With half a month to go to judging, things are already getting tricky.
