LABOUR backbencher and war veteran Dan Jarvis visited Bradford South to urge voters not to elect a Tory MP.
Mr Jarvis, who is seeking re-election in Barnsley Central, was out on the campaign trail to support the seat’s incumbent Labour candidate, Judith Cummins.
He said: “If Bradford South elects a Tory MP then Theresa May will have a blank cheque to keep attacking our schools, our NHS, our pensions and our police. Bradford South needs a local, hard working MP like Judith leading from the front and fighting for local people.”
Mrs Cummins said: “I’m really pleased Dan could join us to talk to local people.”
The Conservatives believe their candidate, Tanya Graham, has a good chance at breaking the 72-year Labour hold over the constituency. Mrs Graham has said a growing number of people have told her they will vote Conservative.
