KEIGHLEY’S Conservative candidate Kris Hopkins has been helping a colleague who is hoping to break Labour’s stronghold over Bradford South.
Mr Hopkins, a Northern Ireland minister who is defending his seat in the General Election, went out on the campaign trail with Tanya Graham, the Conservative candidate for Bradford South, and said he believed she had a real chance of success.
He said: “This seat has been held by Labour MPs for decades and countless opportunities have been missed to improve the lives of local residents.”
Mrs Graham said that an “ever-growing number have told me that they will be voting Conservative for the first time” when the country goes to the polls on June 8.
Labour has held the Bradford South seat since 1945. The party has urged voters to re-elect “a hardworking local MP” in Judith Cummins.
