AN independent candidate standing for election has released a one-line manifesto.
Michael Wharton, a former Leeds City Council worker from Farsley, is standing in the Pudsey constituency.
His website describes a lengthy legal battle with his former employer, and his manifesto reads: "One: Better protection for whistle blowers.
"That’s it. I would list all the ways I would fix Pudsey, the country and the world if I was elected, but since I have about 0.05 per cent chance of that happening, I won’t waste my time or yours.
"A vote for me will be a protest vote, but if enough people vote in protest at the lack of protection for whistle blowers, one of the bigger parties might just think it is worth stealing the policy....which I will be delighted about."
