AN arts project that has transformed a large, vacant city centre building into a “Wild Woods” has so far attracted over 4,300 visitors.
Run by Bradford based arts groups The Brick Box, the Wild Woods has seen the empty Marks & Spencer building on Darley Street turned into a indoor woodland, complete with trees, flowers and a “sun.”
The final event takes place on Saturday, and will have the theme of “over the rainbow.”
The six previous Wild Woods events have attracted around 4,300 visitors to the empty building for dancing, musical performances as well as arts workshops and installations.
The last event, on April 1 saw 700 people attend.
Leeds based East Street Arts took the building on last year on a temporary lease.
Tomorrow’s Wild Woods event, which runs from 4pm to 11pm and is free, will feature performances by musician Serious Sam Barrett and Punjabi Roots, a children’s Spring bonnet workshop and competition, arts installations, poetry performances and food and drink.
