BRADFORD Council have refused a request from the owners of a take away at the end of a residential street for permission to open until 3am.
Mohammed Ilyas applied to vary the opening hours of 4 Whitby Road in the Duckworth Lane area from 11.30am-11.30pm to 8am-3am.
An application for the take away to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week was refused in 2015.
The application said the change was needed “to ensure the business remains competitive.”
But planners this week refused the request, saying: “Although there are some sympathies with this business owner and his desire to enhance his business, the location of the site in such
close proximity to residential properties makes it likely that extended opening hours would result in significant harm to the amenities of these neighbours.”
