Businesses are being urged to join forces in a new project aimed at helping communities across the Bradford district.

More than 200 people are expected at the launch of Be Involved - a free programme which helps businesses of all sizes to contribute to the district's social and economic regeneration.

Bradford Vision's business broker, Anthony Waddington, pictured, said: "Be Involved is a growing network of businesses committed to making the Bradford district a prosperous and thriving place to live and do business.

"The launch event is a valuable opportunity to meet many of the district's most forward-thinking businesses that are already making a commitment to its social and economic future. It's also a great chance to meet some of the organisations that benefit from the support of business."

Be Involved offers businesses an online tool to get involved in the community in a variety of ways - for example by offering work placements, advice or training.

Be Involved has been set up by the Economic Development Partnership, which is part of Bradford Vision. It will be launched at a special event at the University of Bradford on Tuesday, July 17.

Among the delegates will be the corporate affairs manager of Bradford-based Yorkshire Water, Richard Spears.
