Shopkeeper Ravindra Durlabhai Patel was fined £2,500 by Bingley magistrates for selling alcohol to a boy aged 15.
Magistrates were told the four-pack of Carlsberg Export was sold from Patel's business at Staveley Stores in Staveley Road, Ingrow, Keighley.
Patel, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300 for failing to display the Premises Licence and faced £596 in costs.
The offence came to light during a West Yorkshire Trading Standards and police test-purchase. The test purchaser was a boy aged 15 whom Patel claimed seemed to be mature enough to buy alcohol. Graham Hebblethwaite, chief trading standards officer said: "The service is determined to reduce the number of illegal sales."
And Inspector Mark Allsop said such sales lead to crime and disorder.
