More than 150 women gathered at the Midland Hotel for Positive Women's Day.

Demand for the training and networking event, organised by Bradford Chamber, Forward Ladies and Bradford Kickstart, was extremely high.

All 17 stand spaces sold out immediately and workshops were fully booked two weeks ahead.

Positive Women's Day was aimed at women who are currently running a business or those who may be considering taking the leap and starting up.

Workshop topics included intellectual property, time management and marketing as well as personal development issues such as managing yourself and others, discovering your heart's desire and presenting yourself.

Deborah Benbrook has a photography business and went along with a selection of her unique prints. She said: "The event has been great! I've had some excellent exposure here, sold a few items and possibly got some photography work from this. It's been very well organised."

The event was opened by Etta Cohen of Forward Ladies and the Chamber's chief executive, Sandy Needham.

Positive Women's Day raised 170 for Bradford Cancer Support's Daisy Appeal, the Chamber's chosen charity this year, and was attended by women from across West Yorkshire.

Among the attendees was Rubina Khan, whose company Yarn Spinners Tours has met with widespread praise in its attempts to boost Bradford's tourist trade.
