Up and coming local band, Trilogy, have been added to the bill for the Lightcliffe Gala this weekend.

The trio of Jenny Kermode and sisters Vanessa and Abbie Radcliffe will be adding their blend of pop, folk and rock to the mix of dance, stalls, games, food and drink which makes up the traditional village gala atmosphere.

The girls, who live in Hipperholme and Clifton, got together at Brighouse High School where they are studying for A-levels and GCSEs.

The group are also preparing for a performance in Birmingham, where they are among the finalists for the Music for Youth National Festival on Tuesday, July 10.

Jenny, who also works in the tea room at Lightcliffe Cricket Club, said: "The gala is always a fun event and it will be a great opportunity for us to play to a wider audience and hone our set for the Birmingham festival."

The group will be joined at the gala by the Dorothy Stevens Ballet School and the Diamond Gymnastics Team from Halifax.

The free event will be held at Lightcliffe Cricket Club at 2pm on Sunday.

Pony and trap rides, a bouncy castle and slide, children's races, tractor rides and bottle and toy tombolas will also be on offer.
