Campion, last season's West Riding County FA Challenge Cup winners, will start pre-season training next Tuesday evening at Manningham Mills Sports Association (6.30).

Old and new players are welcome to attend and training will be followed by a signing-on night as all players must re-sign to be eligible to play for the club next season.

Included in Campion's warm-up games for the West Riding County Amateur League season is the County FA Charity Shield match against County FA Sunday Cup winners Elland.

This game will take place at County HQ at Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds on Friday, August 3 (7.30). Campion's share of the proceeds will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care at Leeds Road, Bradford.

Two new clubs - U-Save Albion and West Horton, who both played in the Bradford T&A League last season - have been admitted into the County Amateur League for next season.

Both clubs will play in Division Two, while Bronte Wanderers, Marsden and Rawdon Old Boys have each entered their respective reserve sides into the league.

The Premier Division has been increased to 16 clubs for next season, with Dewsbury-based Overthorpe - who finished third in Division One last season - being promoted along with top two Meltham Athletic and Keighley Shamrocks.

Hall Green United, who finished in one of the two Premier Division relegation place, were elected to retain their top-flight status.

The league kicks off on Wednesday, August 22 with games in the Premier Division and Division One, while regular Saturday matches for all clubs start three days later.
