THE Sunbridgewells development in Bradford city centre has been nominated for a national design award.
Bradford Civic Society nominated the complex of bars, eateries and shops, which opened in December and is partly underground, for the Civic Voice Design Award, a celebration of new build, heritage and public realm projects.

Society Chairman Alan Hall said: “We were impressed by the sheer amount of effort, passion and attention-to-detail invested in this unique project. We simply believe there's nothing like it in the UK, and we're proud to have it in Bradford.
"The arrival of Sunbridge Wells is not only a shot in the arm for our city centre, but a much-needed source of inspiration and civic pride for those Bradfordians who are looking for a compelling reason to start loving their city again.”
A shortlist of successful nominations will be announced in April with the awards taking place in London at the Houses of Parliament later this year.
