Groups in Bradford which use football to promote inclusion, challenge discrimination and engage marginalised sections of society are being urged to join one of the most high profile campaigns in sport.

Kick It Out, football's anti-racism campaign, and the Football Foundation, the country's leading sports charity, are to award cash to groups across the country organising activities as part of October's week of action.

The Community Chest grants of up to £2,000 are available to groups such as schools, youth clubs, estate based projects, amateur football clubs, universities and supporters organisations.

The cash is available to celebrate the involvement of minority communities in the game, tackle racial tensions and to support work addressing issues of exclusion in deprived areas of the country.

In previous years, activities such as anti-racism themed football, youth forums and educational activities have been supported.

The closing date for applications is September 10. For more information and how to make an application visit www.kickitout.org or www. footballfoundation.org.uk.
