A student has won a national sculpture design competition.
Henry Marks, 20, of Langbar Road, Ilkley, was among students from universities across the UK who were asked to create a sculpture for the London design resource centre, Material Lab.
Together with Rebecca Williams from Newcastle, Henry won the chance to have his work showcased at the venue.
Rebecca and Henry, who are students at Northumbria University, will also be off to visit the South Africa factory of Midlands-based ceramic tile maker H and R Johnson Limited, which organised the competition Their entry was chosen because of its strong conceptual notion and the use of a parachutist was, said the judges, both witty and unique.
Henry and Rebecca's work will now be installed in Material Lab, where it will be seen by all visitors, including representatives from some of London's top design practices.
