A plea for major sponsors to back a crucial charity fundraiser has been answered following a last minute appeal.
Three organisations rose to the challenge set by Sue Ryder Care at Manorlands, Oxenhope, after reading the plea in the Telegraph & Argus.
Fundraisers sought help for support of the annual Garden Party, taking place this year at Manorlands on Sunday, July 8.
It is the biggest single fundraiser of the year and organisers have set a target of £20,000.
Coming to the rescue was Landrover Experience, based at Coniston Hall, Coniston Cold, near Skipton, which has been named as the main sponsor.
"The owner, Robina Farnell, came forward after she saw it on the T&A website," said fundraiser, Andrew Wood.
Following publication in the paper, Tony Lumb, a director of Big T Leisure, owners of Three Acres Inn at Lees Moor, Cross Roads, Keighley, responded and agreed to be the main entertainment sponsor.
Another generous donation was made by the Richard Poucher Fund in memory of Jane Hook, of Guiseley, who was treated at the hospice.
Mr Wood said placing the appeal in the T&A was extremely successful.
He said: "We are delighted with our new supporters and we have a good response to our ongoing appeal for donations of goods to sell on the day."
Up to 3,000 supporters are expected at the party, which will be feature activities and stalls from 1pm. Manorlands provides palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses from Airedale, Craven and the Bradford area. It costs £1.9 million a year to run.
