Cricket club owners have persuaded councillors to give them the go-ahead to open a bar, despite opposition.

Villagers claimed another drinking place was unnecessary in Oxenhope, near Keighley, where there are already four licensed premises. They also feared noise, litter and rowdy behaviour.

But the Keighley and Shipley Licensing Panel allowed the application after members heard the bar would be open from April to September and would not include music or gaming.
