West Yorkshire Police are urging householders to stay vigilant against sneak-in burglars following incidents in Otley, Guiseley and Horsforth.
Otley Police Inspector Simon Hepworth says there has been a slight increase in cases involving unlocked doors and the theft of car keys from homes in the areas.
He said: "The common factors seem to be unsecured doors or, where some force is used to enter, they're after the car keys.
"We've had one incident in Otley, a couple in Guiseley and several in Horsforth. We would remind people to make sure their car keys aren't easy to find because if the intruders can't find them easily they'll leave.
"The best action people can take is to make sure at night they lock doors and close windows, and if they go out to make their home similarly secure.
"I would also assure people we're following all the leads we have and if anyone has information about someone seen acting suspiciously in an area they can contact us on 0113 2413485 or on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111."
