A teenager who suffered a fractured skull when he was hit over the head with a skateboard during a fight between two groups of youths at a park in Cleckheaton is recovering from his injuries.

The 16-year-old from Heckmondwike has had surgery and is making a good recovery.

Police say they have had a good response to appeals for information about the incident, behind Spenborough Baths at about 7.15pm on Wednesday, June 20, and are following up new lines of inquiry.

They are seeking four or five white youths, aged between 16 and 19, who drove off in a red hatchback car after the incident.

One was 6ft, 18 or 19, stocky and had a shaved head. A second was 15 to 17, medium build, with shoulder-length brown or blond hair.
