LOCAL organisation I Am Hussain will be handing out bottles of water in Tyrrel Street on Saturday to commemorate the Islamic month of Muharram.
The event is in commemoration of Imam Hussain, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, when water was stopped as he and his family was fleeing from enemies in Medinah 1,400 yars ago.
Georgi Majid, of the Ahlulbayt Society of Bradford University, said the event was to send a message of peace by giving bottles of water to passers-by of all religions and cultures.
The group will be in Tyrell Street between 11am and 3pm.
